MeltonMods - Wii Modchips

Older units (serials earlier than LAH10216xxx) are fitted with a Wiikey compatible flashed with the latest firmware (1.9s) - $50.

Newer units (serial number LAH10216xxx and higher) are fitted with a Wiikey 2 modchip for $100. CLICK HERE for details.

(Firmware of Wii is also updated to the newest available version as part of the service!)

Modifying the Wii will allow the console to boot backup games, and to boot games from other regions which normally would not work on your console.

The modchip used and recommended by Meltonmods is a Wiikey compatible, with 1.9s firmware installed.

The cost for modifying an Wii is $50 which includes the modchip and the lifetime warranty.

(If your Wii is the newest chipset (serial number LAH10216 and higher) which requires MUCH more work and a different modchip, pricing will be $100 and a Wiikey 2 modchip will be used.)

NOTE: If you insert a game from another region and it requests to update your Wii then there is a chance your Wii will be 'bricked' (broken) if you allow the process to continue. The best way to avoid this problem is to keep your Wii always updated with the latest firmware.

Meltonmods will accept no liability for 'bricked' consoles!
